Delivering Peace of Mind: WVWD’s Water Meets All Safety Standards

July 1, 2025

Walnut Valley Water District (WVWD) is proud to announce that its latest Public Health Goals (PHG) Report is now available. This report reviews water quality test results from 2022 to 2024 and confirms that WVWD’s drinking water exceeds all state and federal safety standards.

The PHG Report is required by the State of California and the United States Environmental Protection Agency every three years. The report provides information about trace amounts of certain substances—some natural, some from human activities—that may be present in drinking water. These are compared to public health goals set by industry professionals and scientists to protect people over a lifetime.

“We want our customers to know that their drinking water is safe,” said Sheryl L. Shaw, General Manager. “This report is part of our commitment to transparency and public health.”

Some substances were detected at levels above California’s public health goals, which are extremely cautious guidelines. However, all results remain well below enforceable safety limits, and no regulatory action is needed. The report also explains the treatment options available and why additional treatment is not required at this time.
