Walnut Valley Water District is excited to announce that it’s accepting applications for the Utility Service Worker I.
WVWD is seeking a dedicated individual to join the team as a Utility Service Worker I. In this position, you’ll become a pivotal part of Walnut Valley Water District’s operations department. You’ll perform a variety of assignments in the areas of customer service and field maintenance associated with the District’s water service system. This position offers hands-on work in an outdoor environment with opportunities to build your skills and advance within the District.
Required (Certification, Licenses & Experience)
- High School graduation or equivalent
- Up to one year of experience in the reading of meters, water system operation and maintenance, and/or customer service.
- State of California SWRCB Water Distribution Operator Grade D1 Certificate is required.
- State of California SWRCB Water Treatment Operator Grade T1 Certificate is desired.

Students who attend high school within the WVWD service area or live in the service area are eligible to participate in WVWD’s Summer High School Internship program.
Eligible schools include:
- Diamond Bar High School
- Diamond Ranch High School
- Ron Hockwalt Academies
- Rowland High School
- Walnut High School
Students must complete an online application, interview, and work permit to participate. The internship will run from June 2, 2025, to July 25, 2025. Participants are expected to commit to a part-time schedule during those 8 weeks. Interns will receive $18/hr.
