Precision, Progress, and Pride: WVWD Operations Department Delivers on Meter Testing and Water Quality Excellence
November 17, 2025
Walnut Valley Water District (WVWD) is excited to share the amazing work of its Operations Team. Their hard work helps keep our community’s water clean, safe, and reliable every single day.
Big Progress on Meter Testing
This year, the Operations Team finished testing on 30 large water meters that serve some of our biggest customers. These tests help make sure every drop of water is measured correctly.
The team also made major progress on our residential meter testing program. They have already tested more than half of all the meters planned for the year, a huge accomplishment that shows their speed, focus, and dedication. This testing helps WVWD understand how well the small home meters are working all across the community.
Keeping Water Clean and Safe
The Operations Team also focused on making our water treatment process even more efficient. They carefully adjusted the amount of treatment chemicals used—like chlorine and ammonia—to keep the water safe and stable as it travels through pipes and tanks.
This kind of work takes constant testing, monitoring, and smart adjustments. By working together and using data to guide their decisions, the team was able to use fewer chemicals while still maintaining excellent water quality. It’s a clear example of how small changes, backed by teamwork and expertise, can lead to big improvements in how the water system is managed.
One District, One Team
While the Operations Team has led the way on these big accomplishments, every department at WVWD plays an important role in helping the District serve the community.
“Together, we are defining what excellence, collaboration, and public service look like,” said Sheryl Shaw, General Manager. “This kind of impact doesn’t happen in silos – it’s the result of an entire organization moving in the same direction with purpose and pride.”
WVWD is proud of everyone who helps make these successes possible and remains committed to delivering safe and dependable water to the community.
