About

WVWD is proud to announce the completion of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Project. All WVWD customers (nearly 30,00 connections) now have an AMI meter this includes residential, commercial, and institutional customers.

The AMI system automatically collects meter reads in near-real time; identifies, monitors, and diagnoses system abnormalities that include potential water leaks, continuous flows, and possible theft; and resolves issues with aging water meters that are difficult to read, provide inaccurate readings, require additional use of labor, and present potential dangers for meter readers.

WVWD completed the implementation of the project through a combination of in-house personnel labor and subcontractor assistance from Concord Utility Inc.
