September 29, 2021

Diamond Bar, CA (September 29, 2021) – Walnut Valley Water District is pleased to announce that the District has been awarded a $70,000 grant from the United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR). WVWD is one of 82 selected applicants from across 16 western states for the WaterSMART Small-Scale Water Efficiency Grants to help local communities make water efficiency improvements. This funding program supports the Biden-Harris administration’s Executive Order on Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad as it increases a community’s resilience to the impacts of climate change.

The District applied for the WaterSMART grant to support its Exterior Retrofit Irrigation Program known as E-RIP. This funding will support the District’s effort to retrofit irrigation systems of residential customers for increased water savings and to support drought resilient efforts. E-RIP offers customers a free landscape survey, irrigation system retrofit, and minor repairs to reduce water loss and increase water conservation efforts through advanced technology and education.
