Spring Edible Gardening & Seed-Starting Workshop
In partnership with The Real Hens of OC, join us for a FREE hands-on interactive Spring Edible Gardening and Seed-Starting for Beginners Workshop! All materials are provided in the seed-starting activity and you will be able to take home the seeds you sowed.
Topics covered in this workshop will include, but may not be limited to:
- Planting zones
- Micro climates
- Soil basics; soil health, soil amendments
- Cool season vs warm season vs shoulder season planting
- “Rules” of seed starting
- Transplanting
At the end of the workshop, you will:
- Know your planting zones and know how to observe your microclimates
- Know how to select the appropriate type of soil for seed-starting and for starting your garden
- Know how to start seeds with confidence
- Know how to transplant seedlings with success
- Have a basic understanding of planting seasons
- Know some edibles they can plant for cooler weather and shoulder seasons
