Finance Team Receives Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting

Walnut Valley Water District’s Department of Finance has received the prestigious award of excellence in financial reporting for a consecutive third year, from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The department was honored with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its annual comprehensive financial report for fiscal year June 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by Walnut Valley Water District and its management team.

“We are thrilled to receive this recognition from the Government Finance Officers Association,” said Director of Finance, Josh Byerrum. “This recognition is a testament to our team’s hard work and dedication. We are proud to continue to provide the residents of the WVWD community with transparent financial information as we continue to provide quality and affordable drinking water.”

The GFOA has been providing leadership and support to government finance professionals since its inception in 1906. The organization represents over 20,000 members working in North America’s local, state, and provincial governments. Walnut Valley Water District is proud to be among the approximately 1,800 governments recognized for excellence in budgeting and financial reporting.
