Sustainability

It all starts with you…

Walnut Valley Water District’s water-saving programs and rebates encourage community members and businesses to adopt a culture of sustainability. Your ongoing efforts to use water efficiently make a difference in protecting our most valuable resource – water! Together we can help protect the environment, preserve water for future generations, and save money on your monthly water bill.

Walnut Valley Water District declared a Stage 2 Water Shortage in January 2022 that is still in effect today. A water-efficient lifestyle helps Californians make smart water choices to ensure the long-term viability and sustainability of our water supply. We encourage our customers to take advantage of the tools and resources offered here.

Like many people, you may have taken for granted that we’ll always have enough water. Unfortunately, with long periods of drought in California and the American Southwest, that’s not necessarily true. And as our population grows, the strain on WVWD’s primary sources of water, the Colorado River Aqueduct and the State Water Project, increases.

We want to encourage community members to continue to conserve as we strive to provide the highest water quality in the Walnut Valley community. We can’t do this alone, we need your help. Our team of water professionals loves answering questions about saving water, contact the External Affairs & Sustainability Manager, Donna DiLaura at (909) 595-7554 ext. 327 or ddilaura@walnutvalleywater.gov
