WVWD Completes Lead and Copper Rule Revision (LCRR) Service Line Inventory with Zero Lead or Galvanized Service Lines Found

October 22, 2024

Walnut Valley Water District (WVWD) is proud to announce the successful completion of its service line inventory, in full compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Lead and Copper Rule Revision (LCRR). This comprehensive review, which involved identifying and documenting service line materials throughout our service area, confirms that no lead or galvanized service lines requiring replacement were found in the system.

The LCRR requires all public water systems to assess and inventory service lines that could pose a risk of lead contamination in drinking water. Through our extensive evaluation, WVWD has verified that all service lines meet modern safety standards, ensuring our community’s drinking water continues to be of the highest quality.

“We are pleased to report that our system contains no lead or galvanized service lines, reinforcing our commitment to providing safe, clean drinking water to our customers,” said Sheryl Shaw, General Manager. “This accomplishment is a testament to our rigorous infrastructure management and proactive approach to maintaining public health.”

As part of our commitment to transparency and customer service, WVWD has made a user-friendly database available to the public. Customers can now easily verify the material of their service line by typing in their street address below. WVWD will continue to prioritize investments in infrastructure improvements and public safety. We remain dedicated to exceeding regulatory standards for water quality.
